How to Turn Chrome OS Device into a Digital Signage Player?

Turn your Chromebox or Chrome OS device into a digital signage player using EasySignage. Simple steps to get started fast.

đź§© Prerequisites

  • A Chrome OS device (e.g. Chromebox, Chromebook) connected to the internet
  • A Google Workspace admin account
  • A Chrome Kiosk & Signage License assigned to the device
  • An EasySignage account

 

How to set up Chrome OS as digital signage player

Step 1: Sign in to Google Admin Console

  • Open the Google Admin Console in your browser.
  • Log in using your Workspace admin credentials.

Step 2: Enroll or Factory Reset the Device

  • If previously in personal use, perform a factory reset: sign out → press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R → follow prompts.
  • On the “Who is using this Chromebox” screen, choose Enterprise enrollment, then log in with your admin account and complete setup.

Step 3: Assign the Kiosk & Signage License

  • In Admin Console, go to Devices > Chrome > Devices.
  • Select your enrolled device.
  • Under Licenses, assign a Kiosk & Signage License.
  • If needed, purchase licenses under Subscriptions.

Step 4: Configure Kiosk App Settings

  • Navigate to Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions > Kiosks.
  • Click Add, choose Add by URL, and set the URL to: https://ezplayer.io
  • Save your changes and set AC kiosk power settings to Never sleep.

Step 5: Boot and Start Signage

  • Reboot the Chrome OS device
  • It will launch in kiosk mode, automatically loading EasySignage Web Player via ezplayer.io
  • A pairing code will display; login to your EasySignage dashboard and assign the screen.
