How to Set Up an HDMI-Input Video on My Digital Signage?

Learn how to display live video feeds with HDMI-In on your digital signage. Stream TV, cameras, or events alongside your scheduled content.

🎥 Can I connect an HDMI-Input video to my screen?

With EasySignage’s External Video App (HDMI-In), you can seamlessly integrate live video feeds from any external source—like a TV set-top box, camera, or media player—directly into your digital signage content. Perfect for displaying live broadcasts, live events, or dynamic video feeds alongside your scheduled content.

What devices support HDMI-In for digital signage?

The EasySignage External Video App works with players and devices that have an HDMI Input port, such as:

  • BrightSign XT4 and XT5 Series
  • Android devices and Android TV boxes with HDMI capture support
  • Media players with HDMI-in hardware

Note: HDMI input must be physically available on the device for this feature to work.

Can I display both signage content and live HDMI video together?

Yes!
With EasySignage’s layout designer, you can:

  • Display your scheduled digital signage content (images, videos, text, apps, etc.)
  • Add the live HDMI feed in a separate frame using Picture-in-Picture (PIP)
  • Customize the size and position of the live video window

This setup keeps your content dynamic and engaging without interrupting your main messaging.

Can I connect a camera to my screen?

Yes!
You can connect a camera directly to your digital signage screen if your player or device supports HDMI input. By using the EasySignage External Video App, your camera’s live feed can be captured through the HDMI port and displayed on the screen, either in full screen or Picture-in-Picture (PIP) mode.
Just make sure your camera has an HDMI output and your device supports external video input.
