How to Use Digital Signage Templates?
Learn how to use ready-made digital signage templates and the online editor to design content quickly with EasySignage.
What are digital signage templates?
Templates are pre-designed content across different categories that you can customise to fit your needs. They also include a built-in editor, so you can create and design templates from scratch for complete creative flexibility.
How do I add a template to a playlist?
You add templates from within a playlist layer using the EasySignage dashboard .
To add a template:
- Open the management console
- Click on Playlists
- Open a playlist
- Click on a layer where you will add a template
- If the layer has no media, the apps dialog will open; otherwise, click on Add New
- Click on Add from Templates
- Click on a template category, for example, Basic
- Click on a template, such as Basic text, to add it (it will be added as an image)
How do I edit a template in the online editor?
Once a template is added, you can open the online editor to customise it in the EasySignage dashboard .
To edit a template:
- Click on Open Editor
- Click on the text or object to select it
- Use the object controls in the top bar to make changes
- Use Settings to adjust the border, transparency, and shadow of the selected object
- Use Font to control text style, alignment, colour, size, and font family
- Use Background to change the template background colour, and Color to change the selected object’s foreground colour
How do I position and arrange objects in a template?
The editor gives you full control over where each object sits and how objects stack on top of one another.
To position and arrange objects:
- Align an object to the left, center vertically, center horizontally, right, top, or bottom
- Use Send Backward or Bring Forward to move an object one step back or forward
- Use Send to Back or Bring to Front to move an object behind or on top of all others
- Change the left and top position values, or drag and drop objects and use the arrow keys to move them
- Use the Layers list to drag layers up and down, lock a layer from being modified, or hide and show a layer
What content can I add to a template?
The editor includes several object and media libraries you can add to your design.
You can add:
- Objects, including social media objects and menu designs you configure with your own values
- My Images, where you can upload images from your PC, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Facebook, or reuse images from your assets
- Backgrounds, chosen by category and resized to fit the template
- Collections, a built-in searchable image library, and Pixabay, a third-party searchable image library
- Shapes, which can be customised in size and colour, and Icons, searchable transparent vector images
How do I save and reuse a template?
When your template design is ready, click on Save.
- The template will be processed and saved as an image
- To edit it again later, click on Open Editor
