# How to Add a News Ticker or RSS Feed to Digital Signage?

Learn how to add a scrolling news ticker or RSS feed to your digital signage screens with EasySignage.

## How do I add an RSS feed to my digital signage screens?

You can display live content from any RSS feed on your screens using the [RSS News app](https://easysignage.com/apps/digital-signage-rss-support/) in the EasySignage Management Console.

To add an RSS feed:

-   Go to the RSS web page and copy the RSS feed URL, for example: jpl.nasa.gov/feeds/news/
-   Go to the [Management Console](https://app.easysignage.com/)
-   Click on the playlist, then the layer where you will add RSS
-   If the layer has no media, the apps dialog will open. Otherwise, click on **Add New**
-   Click on **News Apps**
-   Click on **RSS**
-   Paste the URL in the RSS URL box
-   Select a theme: Theme 1, Theme 2, or Images Only (Images Only shows images without the headline and description)
-   Select Headline color, Description color, and Background color
-   Choose the stories count (how many stories to get)
-   Wait for the stories to be processed, then use the arrows to navigate through them

## How do I add a scrolling news ticker to digital signage?

Use the [RSS Ticker app](https://easysignage.com/apps/digital-signage-news-tickers/) to create a live, scrolling news feed by pulling content from any RSS feed URL. This app can be used in a 1920x120 layer only.

To add an RSS ticker:

-   Click on the playlist, then the 1920x120 layer where you want to add an RSS ticker

-   Choose the text color and background color for your ticker

-   Choose the number of stories
-   Choose the text color and background color for your ticker
-   Add a digital clock
-   Adjust the ticker speed: 1 is the slowest, 10 is the fastest

## How do I display preset news feeds without a feed URL?

The News app lets you show live news from popular sources without needing to find an RSS URL yourself.

To add a preset news feed:

-   Click on the playlist, then the layer where you will add the News app
-   If the layer has no media, the apps dialog will open. Otherwise, click on **Add New**
-   Click on **News Apps**
-   Click on one of the preset news apps
-   Choose a topic from the drop-down (news, sports, entertainment, countries, and more), which depends on each RSS provider
-   Select a theme
-   Select Headline color, Description color, and Background color
-   Choose the stories count (how many stories to get)
-   Click on **Save**
-   Wait for the stories to be processed, then use the arrows on the sides to navigate through them

## Which layer size do I need for a news ticker?

The RSS Ticker and Custom Ticker apps can be used in a 1920x120 layer only, which is why they are designed as a thin, full-width scrolling band across your screen.

-   The RSS News and preset News apps can be added to a standard layer
-   The RSS Ticker and Custom Ticker apps require a 1920x120 layer
