How to Update Many Screens at Once with an AI Assistant?
Use screen tags so one message in Claude or ChatGPT changes the content of every matching digital signage screen, through the EasySignage MCP server.
How does it work?
Tags are labels you put on screens, such as nsw, store or menu-board. Once your screens are tagged, you can ask the assistant to act on every screen with a tag: set the same playlist, schedule or channel on all of them, and publish. One message replaces opening each screen in turn.
What do I need before I start?
- An EasySignage Premium or Enterprise plan
- An AI assistant connected to EasySignage with Full access to Screens, and Read only access to the content you’ll assign (Playlists, Schedules or Channels). See How to Connect an AI Assistant to EasySignage
How do I tag my screens?
Tag screens in Screens by selecting them and clicking Tags, or ask the assistant:
- “Tag the Bondi, Manly and Parramatta screens with nsw.”
- “Add the tag menu-board to every screen whose name contains Menu.”
Plan your tags around how you update content: by region, by store type, or by screen purpose. A screen can have several tags.
What can I ask?
- “Set the Easter playlist on every screen tagged nsw and publish.”
- “Publish to every screen tagged store.”
- “Which screens are tagged menu-board, and what is each one playing?”
- “Switch the screens tagged lobby back to the Lobby Loop schedule.”
Ask the assistant to list the matching screens before it changes anything, so you can check the tag picks the right ones.
What should I check?
- Orientation. Matching by tag ignores orientation. Make sure every screen with the tag has the same orientation as the playlist you assign.
- Offline screens. Screens that are offline receive the change the next time they connect.
