How to Find Offline Screens with an AI Assistant?

Ask Claude or ChatGPT which digital signage screens are offline, for how long, and where they are, using the EasySignage MCP server.

What can the assistant tell me about offline screens?

A connected assistant reads your screens and their status, the same information you see in Screens: whether each screen is online or offline, when it was last seen, its name, location, group and tags. It can sort and filter that list for you, so you get an answer like “3 screens offline, 2 of them in the Sydney group since yesterday” instead of scrolling the list yourself.

What do I need before I start?

What can I ask?

  • “Which screens are offline right now?”
  • “Which screens have been offline for more than a day?”
  • “List the offline screens in the Sydney group with their location.”
  • “Which screens tagged store went offline since this morning?”
  • “When was the Reception screen last seen?”

Ask a follow-up to narrow it down, for example “Only the ones in Melbourne” or “Sort them by how long they’ve been offline”.

What should I do when a screen is offline?

The assistant reports the status; it can’t fix power or network problems on site. Check that the screen is switched on and connected to the internet, then see Player Showing Offline on Dashboard . A screen keeps playing its last published content while it is offline.
