# How to Build a Playlist from a Folder with an AI Assistant?

Ask Claude or ChatGPT to create a digital signage playlist from the images and videos in an EasySignage folder, in the order and timing you want.

## What does the assistant do?

You name a folder in **Media Assets** and describe the playlist. The assistant finds the media in that folder, creates the playlist, adds the items in the order you ask for, and can set it as the content of your screens. Afterwards the playlist is a normal EasySignage playlist that you can open and edit yourself.

## What do I need before I start?

- An EasySignage Premium or Enterprise plan
- The media already uploaded to a folder in **Media Assets**
- An AI assistant connected to EasySignage with **Full access** to **Playlists**, and **Read only** access to **Folders** and **Media Assets**. Add **Full access** to **Screens** if you want it to put the playlist on screens. See [How to Connect an AI Assistant to EasySignage](https://easysignage.com/how-to/apps/how-to-connect-an-ai-assistant-to-easysignage/)

## What can I ask?

- “Create a horizontal playlist called Reception Loop with every image in the Lobby folder, 10 seconds each.”
- “Add the videos from the Autumn folder to the Store Loop playlist, after the existing items.”
- “Put the newest images first in the Reception Loop playlist.”
- “Copy the Store Loop playlist as Store Loop Melbourne.”
- “Set Reception Loop as the content of the Reception screen and publish it.”

## What should I check?

- **Orientation.** A playlist is horizontal or vertical, and a screen only plays playlists that match its orientation. Say which one you want.
- **Preview before publishing.** Open the playlist in EasySignage and preview it, then ask the assistant to publish.
- **Nothing is deleted.** The assistant can add and reorder items but can’t delete a playlist or a media file. Remove items yourself in EasySignage if you need to.
