Can EasySignage work without an internet connection?
Yes.
EasySignage is designed to continue playing content even when your internet connection is temporarily unavailable.
Your screens do not go blank when the network drops.
How does offline digital signage work?
EasySignage uses local caching on each screen or player.
When content is published:
- Media files, layouts, and web content are downloaded to the player
- Content is stored locally on the device
- Playback continues from local storage
If the internet connection is lost, the screen simply keeps playing the last published content.
What happens when the internet goes down?
When connectivity is lost:
- Videos, images, and layouts continue to play
- Schedules continue to run
- Screen rotation and transitions continue
- No user interaction is required
The screen will automatically reconnect once internet access is restored.
What happens when the connection comes back?
As soon as the device reconnects:
- EasySignage checks for updates
- Any new content or schedule changes are downloaded
- The screen updates automatically
No manual reboot or refresh is needed.
Does offline mode support dashboards and live web pages?
Live web content (such as Google Sheets, dashboards, or websites) requires an internet connection to update.
However:
- The last loaded version remains visible
- Static content, videos, and images continue to play normally
For critical displays, EasySignage supports fallback layouts that show branded or informational screens when live data is unavailable.
How long can screens run offline?
There is no time limit.
Screens will continue running indefinitely using cached content until the internet connection is restored.
Is offline playback secure?
Yes.
All content is:
- Encrypted during transfer
- Stored securely on the player
- Isolated to your account and screens
Each device can only access content assigned to it.
What environments is offline mode designed for?
Offline playback is ideal for:
- Retail stores
- Shopping centres
- Restaurants
- Hospitals
- Schools
- Construction sites
- Transport hubs
- Remote locations
Any environment where internet reliability is critical.
